Main Centre:

The main centre has a central server which is connected through a hub to 8 nodes.The Main centre collects the Traffic violation report data from various Zonal centres and consolidates the same, and the consolidated data is distributed back to zonal centres to facilitate any where Fine collection.

A new system of enforcement called Automated Enforcement has been introduced in Bangalore City

• This involves the constabulary noting down the numbers of the offending vehicles and passing the information to the Automation Enforcement Center equipped with computers, software and vehicle database provided by the M.V Department

• Based on this, computerized challans are generated U/s 133 of M.V. Act, which are sent by post to the offender

Bangalore police have been given 280 Blackberrys and wireless printers to traffic sub-inspectors and inspectors The Bangalore city police (PSIs and above) have been trained on how to use these Blackberry. Advantages: • On the spot fine collection and receipt • Cases booked are stored in the server and repeated offenders can be identified • For those who can not pay spot fines notices are issued and the details are put up on the servers • Registration database from transport department linked up to Automated Enforcement Centre • Licence database is to be obtained

:: Enforcement Cameras ::

• 5 surveillance cameras being used to monitor traffic scenario on Hosur Road and Airport Road • 40 more surveillance cameras have been installed under B-TRAC • 2 Red Speed cameras installed under B-TRAC

:: Education ::

• SARS - enrollment of traffic safety officers from all schools (3000 schools)
• Road Safety in Education curriculum
• Training Programme for auto rickshaw drivers, BMTC drivers and Call center drivers

:: Co-ordination ::

• With BBMP,BDA, BESCOM, Transport Dept, Dept of Urban Land Transport (DULT),
KRDCL etc
• Liasoning with various civic agencies – Civic, City Connect, Janagraaha and Swabhimana
